Ph.D., M.Sc. Biomed. Eng.

About Me

I received my Ph.D. degree in the area of 'Biomedical Science and Engineering' from Aalborg University in 2004. I have also a Bioengineering degree (comparable to a M.Sc.Biomed.Eng.) from the National University of Entre Ríos, Argentina.

My research area of interest is in the field of rehabilitation technologies used for supporting re-learning of lost motor functions after brain injury, particularly gait and postural control. Furthermore, I have interest on understanding the mechanisms that result on sensory-motor impairments and recovery after injury.

My current research topics include: functional electrical stimulation and therapy, characterization and use of the nociceptive withdrawal reflex (NWR) to support gait training of stroke patients, rehabilitation technologies, and basic sensory-motor physiology.

I am a member of the Research Interest Group in Integrative Neuroscience
